What is Baby’s First Ride?
We offer convenience and peace of mind. With Baby’s First Ride, you won’t have to worry about retrieving your car, loading your luggage, or the small details like grocery pick up and grabbing dinner. We take care of that, leaving you free to relax on the joy of being a new family, mother and baby.
Baby’s First Ride is a program designed around comfort, convenience, and most importantly, safety. A top priority of Baby’s First Ride is teaching parents proper car seat transition training and car seat installation. Automobile accidents are the one of the leading causes of death for children in the United States. Our car seat training program is one small way that we can help keep your children safe.
What certification does your staff have?
Our staff are trained and certified by the National Child Passenger Safety Certification Training Program. This program is a partnership between three organizations:
• The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
• The National Child Passenger Safety Board (NCPSB)
• Safe Kids Worldwide
What is a Certified Passenger Safety Technician (CPST)?
The primary role of a CPST is to educate caregivers on the correct selection, installation, and use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts.
Do you perform background checks on your staff?
Yes, we perform background checks using a reputable company at the time of hire and once a year on the anniversary of the hire date.
How long has your company been in business?
Baby’s First Ride is a division of Nashville Transport Services. We have been in business since 2008.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we are licensed by the State of Tennessee, and insured by a reputable company. All our drivers have clean driving records. You rest assured that you and your family are in good hands with us.
What vehicles do you offer?
You can choose between a minivan and a sedan depending on your need or preference.
May I customize a package?
Absolutely!!! We are flexible, and we love working with our clients! Our goal is to make your experience an easy one. Give us call or send us an email to arrange your package.
Why do I need car seat transition training?
Traffic accidents can happen to anyone at any time. It is especially concerning that automobile crashes are one of the leading causes of death for children in the United States. In most of these cases, child passenger injuries and death can be prevented. Many of these injuries and death occur because of improper use and installation of car seats, booster seats and seat belt use. Proper education can save so many lives, and therefore we can incorporate this training in the Baby’s First Ride program.
The American Academy of Pediatrics offers advice to parents for buckling up their children.
Rear-facing car seats:
• Birth until at least 2 years old
• Use until child reaches upper height or weight limit of car seat
• Rear seat if available
Forward facing car seats:
• 2 years old until at least 4 years old
• Use until child is mature enough for a booster seat, or reaches upper weight or height limit of car seat
• Rear seat if available
Booster seats:
• 4 years old until at least 9 years old
• Use until seat belt fits appropriately (around 4’9″ tall)
• Rear seat if available
Seat belts:
• At least 9 years old
• Greater than 4’9″ tall
• Rear seat if available until at least 13 years old
Why isn’t my hospital listed? Can I still use your service?
We only have contracts with the hospitals listed on our site for training classes. If you would like to see our services available at your hospital, please have one of the hospital administrators contact us.
We can still accommodate your needs even if you do not have your baby at one of our participating hospitals. Contact us about customizing a package just for you.
How do I sign up?
There are three ways to sign up. You can communicate with us via the contact information on the “Contact Us” page, on the “Registration” page of our website, or you can sign up when you join a birthing class at one of our participating hospitals. We teach the Passenger Safety class in conjunction with the birthing class program.
